What is rear glass decals / rear glass lettering?

These decals are CUT (not printed) from single colored vinyl material. All of the individual letters and design shapes are cut and then held together by a single piece of transfer tape. The transfer tape holds all of the design together during install, and once applied, it is removed -- leaving just the letters and shapes on the glass.
